Lunch with friends

On Thursday morning we received a phone call from Wayne & Bonnie who live in Burnsville. They wanted to have lunch with us. (Maybe they secretly wanted to see if anyone was staying in “their cabin #3” 🙂 We had errands in Willmar so we met at The Oaks Restaurant at Eagle Creek Golf Course. […]

2 Lakes, 1 Sunset 3-28-12

On his way home from Willmar, Bob stopped and took the first sunset picture at Ringo Lake. The rest of the picture are from Lake Florida. We think it was a spectacular show. Once again, pictures are worth 1,000 words. We love living at the lake!

A “Little ” Project & a Sunset 3-27-12

Today we went to get another Adirondack swing out of storage and found a “little” project to do as well. As you can see there is another project here as well. One of the handles broke on the wheel barrow. When we opened the Adirondack swing box, we found parts of a used swing and […]

A Little Trip 3-26-12

Today we had 2 “sightings” First, our favorite loon, the one who comes first and leaves last each fall was here to see us. When I went to get the mail I noticed that there were a couple of blooms on the Dianthus I had left last fall. What a breath of spring! A couple […]

Work on the beach

Today was the day we started working on the beach. We have tons of sand to move before the guys come to put the docks in! The first Adirondack swing is set and leveled. Only 2 picnic tables and 4 more swings to move to the beach. At the end of the day we were […]

3-22-12 Today’s Project

Today’s resort project was putting a new top and benches on a picnic table. We are using Ultra Deck composite decking material. We hope it will last much longer than wood and will be drier to sit on when it rains. It was a gray drizzly day, so the work had to be done in […]

The night sky 3-20-12

The sunset wasn’t much to show, but we thought the sky at the end was very interesting!

A Big Day at the Lake-3-18-12

When we got up this morning Bob didn’t think this would be the Big Day. That’s the day the ice goes off. When we got home from church there was quite a bit of open water. An hour later the wind came up and suddenly there was even less ice! Bob went to the neighbors […]

Lake Florida sunset 3-17-12

This could be the last sunset at the resort this spring with ice on the lake. The warm temperatures continue and the wind keeps breaking the ice apart where it has cracks. Notice the reflection in the open water.

Friday at Dickerson’s Resort

The weather here in March is unbelievable. The snow is almost gone and the ice continues to get darker. Today we had a coffee break on the Adirondack Swing which spent the winter on cabin #1 deck. This is the view of the beach and Lake Florida as we are sitting on the swing. The […]
