Snow drifts around the cabins at the resort

The wind has created some beautiful drifts around the cabins again this winter. Come take a little trip around the resort with us. Pour Al is up to his armpits in snow! There is no “lake view” from cabin #8 anymore! The wind is blowing as I write this. I’m sure the drifts will be […]

Cabin #9 sheetrock and taping

Today is the day the guys need to finish hanging the sheetrock in cabin #9. Tomorrow, Bob Kerzman will be coming to start taping. The kitchen is the last room to do. Justin is here to help today too. Travis goes upstairs to do something while Brian & Justin finish the kitchen.

Out and about in Spicer

On Friday night we were invited to a book signing in Spicer. Debbie Caylor, a local real estate agent has written a book called, “The Ultimate Guide to Buying and Selling Homes in the Willmar Area.” It was a fun night with piano music, good food and conversation. FYI – Debbie opened a new real […]

Lake Florida Sunset 1-29-14

The sunset on Wednesday night went on for about 40 minutes. There were lots of clouds in the sky. We never know if they are going to cover the sun up or give us a spectacular sunset. The end! What do you think? It will be fun to see what tomorrow brings!

Fun away from the resort

Simon & Sasha have had just about enough of this cold Minnesota weather. They really like to go outside, but today have decided that snuggling and the sun are much better – it’s 20 degrees below! Tonight we are in Marshall, Minnesota having dinner with my niece and her family. It’s been way too long […]

Hanging sheetrock in the cabin 1-27-14

This morning Keith & Travis came to start hanging the sheetrock in the cabin. Decisions now need to be made as to what walls will be painted and which ones will have wood on them. As we were coming back to the house the sun was setting. Notice that it is 5:19. The days are […]

Another Minnesota blizzard 1-26-14

Weather is always a topic of conversation in Minnesota and today was no different. We typically drive Bob’s pickup to church, but today we drove my car because it lives in the garage and has heated seats! We had our annual meeting so by the time we were finished and ready to leave it was […]

Insulating the ceiling of cabin #9 1-24-14

On Friday morning Rob from Rob’s Maintenance & More came to insulate the cabin roof with spray foam insulation. The foam is applied at  125 degrees and during the curing heats up to 180 degrees  and cools down and hardens in minutes. Truly amazing! The R value of the cabin roof is 44.  Bob and […]

This is the new cabin #9!

The NEW Cabin #9 Cabin #9 is up, shingled and all of the windows are in except 1 in the second story. The cabin has 4 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, living room & kitchen. Here is a picture of each side of the cabin. On the south side of the cabin are the kitchen and […]

Working in our own cabin

We traded the microwave on Sunday and today (Monday) is the day to put it up in our own “cabin.” Bob was in charge of the instructions-I am the extra hands to hold and hand him tools. We have 2 of the greatest helpers at our house. Simon likes to get right in there and […]
