In the winter it’s fun to leave the resort and get out in the Spicer community to do something fun. This weekend is the beginning of Winterfest in Spicer. We went to the Glacial Ridge Winery for soup, wine , music and an Art Exhibit.

Art Norby has been doing sculptures for more than 36 years. He has done public sculptures in Trenton, New Jersey in 1991 and Windom, Minnesota in 1993. In 1996 he was chosen to design the Minnesota Korean War Veterans Memorial which was dedicated in September of 1998. Check out his biography and website by clicking on his name.
Artist Sharon Schuetze was also exhibiting at the festival. Sharon is a great water color artist. Check out her website!
Other artists who were there included: Violet Dauk, New London: watercolor paintings, prints and greeting cards. Violet painted the artwork for the Winery’s popular Dragonfly Bay wine. Joanne Glor, Kandiyohi: hand-built embossed pottery. Kim Wendlandt, New London: altered book purses and vintage remix jewelry. Kim owns Dancing Goat Studio in New London.
We were entertained with live music by Jim & Jules.
