2-12-17 A Day at Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center
Sunday was the annual Sleigh & Ski Festival at Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center which is right next door to the resort. The day starts out with a bowl of awesome chili made by Vicky Vogt and great entertainment. While we were eating we listened to the Cedar Creek Gospel Band.

The Exhibits
After we finished lunch we walked around to see all of the exhibits at the festival.Mari and her daughter took a break to have a snack.These 3 little boys are having a good time playing with the village.Selling honey and products made from bees wax.
At this table we got information about recycling in Kandiyohi County.These men are on the Board of Directors of Prairie woods and were there to welcome everyone..
The Master Gardeners were there to answer questions about plants and gardening.
Hawk Creek animal Shelter brought a dog and 2 kitties for all of us to pet and play with.
The Tommy Swenson Memorial Ice Fishing Tournament is coming up. They have a raffle with the proceeds going to The Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center.
It appears you can make just about anything to drink out of almost anything you find in the forest!
Last summer there was a Smithsonian Display at Prairie Woods about water. Some of our historical pictures were used for their display and are still on display now.There wasn’t much snow for the festival this year, but everyone had a good time. We’re all looking forward to going to the Sleigh & Ski Festival in February, 2018!
Our next trip to Prairie Woods will be for their Earth Day Celebration on April 22nd, 2017. Join us!
