Those of you who have vacationed at Dickerson’s Resort know that the sunrises are not as easily seen as the sunsets. Due to the fact that he resort is located at the bottom of a hill and there is a forest to the east, catching the sunrise usually requires a hike and getting up early! 🙂 Today the early morning temperature was above 20 and the eastern sky looked like we would be in for something good. We put on our winter jackets, boots, heavy gloves and set off for the top of the hill. We were rewarded with this beautiful sunrise! Watch how it changes as we go up the hill and walk to highway 29 towards the Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center.
By the time we took this last picture we were both pretty cold and headed back to the resort. We will wait for the sun to get a little higher in the sky before we go back outside!
Since it is saturday, the carpenters aren’t here. We do have a large pile of wood under a tarp that needs to be cleaned up.
There is always snow to be moved during the winter at the lake. A snowfall of 1/2 inch can grow to 3 foot drifts if the wind blows just right!
