March 21st we had a fun time away from the resort. We went to the First ever Chile Fest Fundraiser for the Willmar Area Food Shelf. 8 or 9 different groups made a pot of chile. We each got 4 tickets to taste the chile and put a ticket in the ones we liked the best.

Part of the fun of being out and about is seeing old friends. Bob and Dennis Benson have know each other for many, many years. Dennis is always out and about with his camera too. (much bigger model than ours!)

While we were eating our chile we met some new friends too. Ken and his wife moved here from North Carolina to take the job as Chief Medical Officer at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar,MN. We’re pretty sure all of their votes went to the ambulance crew chile. 🙂

We had a great time and are looking forward to next year. It was a great fundraiser for the food shelf.
