Yesterday morning I asked Bob what we should have for lunch. He said, “I thought we were going to St. Cloud to pick up our order and go to the boat show?” So, off we went!
Our first stop was Fleet Farm to make a couple of returns. While there we ran into Cheryl, a good friend who stays at the resort. She had taken her father to the Dr. and was picking up flag poles for him to give as gifts! What a thoughtful man. Then we made a stop at Boysen Animal Hospital to visit another of our resort guests, Dr. Gene and his staff. Gene and his family have stayed at our resort every year since 1995! We have so enjoyed knowing the family and watching their children, Eric and Emily grow up.
Then we were off to the Boat Show at the St. Cloud Civic Center. Someone missed his turn and we ended up on the other side of the river (guess things had changed since the last time we were there!) While we were waiting for the light to make a U-turn we noticed a sign for a Fish Fry for St. Katharine Drexel School. We love to support fundraisers so decided if it worked into our schedule, that would be where we would have dinner. We left the boat show at 4:30 and headed over to the fish fry. We got there at the perfect time. We didn’t have to wait at all, but 15 minutes later the people were in a line at least 100 deep! The fish was delicious as were the potato salad, cole slaw, baked beans and ice cream. We sat with some very nice people who were thankful for “the Lutherans” who were supporting them!
At 5:30 we were on our way back home to the resort. The sky was pretty cloudy so I wasn’t too upset that we left the camera at home. 5 minutes into our drive everything changed and there was a very unusual, pretty sunset. I have a picture of it in my mind for you!
